Noah Mulvaney
Bucknell Student Athlete
Noah Mulvaney stepped onto Bucknell University’s campus in the fall of 2023 with expectations on his shoulders. The expectations were there for good reason as the Arrowhead, WI native was a state champion wrestler and winner of the prestigious Fargo Nationals. The pressure that comes with that type of success is a difficult path for many college athletes, so how did the freshman handle the expectation of immediate success?
Enter FCA.
Influenced by several of his teammates, Noah began to regularly attend the Bucknell FCA huddle. Noah learned through the weekly studies that God had a plan and purpose for each Christian’s life. But experiencing the peace and joy that comes from living in that plan required Noah to make a decision to trust Jesus. When offered the chance to make that decision, he “deferred” to a later period. But God wasn’t done yet.
In the spring, Noah started to attend a local church where the message of salvation became clear and urgent. The church was a place of encouragement, additional mentoring and discipleship. The combination of FCA and the local church’s influence gradually brought Noah to a decision point. In June, Noah called local FCA staff, Bill Morrow, who recalled the simplicity of Noah’s question: “Would you pray with me to make Jesus Lord of my life?” God continues to work in and through Noah as a leader on his wrestling team and and on the campus as he strives to live out his faith for Jesus each and every day.
Noah is a living example of how the world is being transformed by Jesus through the influence of coaches and athletes!
